Everyone Says It's Impossible. You Can Show They're Wrong!
You can help launch Torah-based nature education in Charedi boys schools - this year!
Over 25% of Israel's Jewish boys learn in Charedi schools (AKA cheder), where they currently get little green education.
Anyone who would suggest that nature education should be introduced into the already packed learning schedule of a typical cheder will hear the same response:
Enter Leshomra: the charedi non-profit dedicated to enriching our community's relationship with nature and the environment. Over the past 2 years, we have seen stellar success introducing our Torah-based green education program to over 90 Charedi kindergartens and lower elementary classrooms across Israel.
Now we're ready to launch a brand new program specially designed for the upper grades of chadarim.
Apparently it's not impossible after all.
Through our partnership with Zra'im Pedagogical Center, headed by Rabbi Moshe Bunim Mintz, head of the Halichos Ha'Aretz Kollel and a leader of Ashdod's Charedi community.
With the help of Zra'im and Rabbi Mintz, Leshomra is planning an innovative new curriculum designed for Cheder boys which will allow them to plant and tend their own mini-farm in their schoolyard. The entire curriculum will be based solidly in Torah sources related to caring for the Earth and the Land of Israel in particular, and will have the blessing of leading Charedi rabbis.
This is a ground-breaking partnership that has the potential to impact thousands of charedi boys starting this year!
But we need your help to make the impossible a reality.
Leshomra's budget is already fully committed to our existing successful green education programs in Charedi communities around Israel. We are turning to you, our friends and supporters, to provide the funding for this innovative curriculum.
