Video: Israel’s Growing Green Thanks to Leshomra

Check out the juicy vegetables that our kids are growing in the heart of the city! This video was made by the Gvanim community center in Ramat Beit Shemesh A. Leshomra is running after-school farming groups in 3 different community centers in Beit Shemesh.

Leshomra works with Charedi kids, but at the request of the community we are also running a group for the general public in Beit Shemesh. This is not the first time that we’ve expanded our impact to the wider community. Several graduates of our Ecology Guide training program at Jerusalem’s Beth Jacob Teachers’ Seminary have since gone on to work in green programming outside the Charedi community. That’s right: Charedim are bringing green education to all Israelis!
